TECH TIP – SAVING YOUR VERISURF SETTINGS

In Verisurf Restore Factory Settings quickly resets all the Preferences to their default settings. However, many operators modify Preferences to optimize the use of Verisurf during their day-to-day measurement/inspection tasks. Since Restore Factory Settings resets Preferences, extensive work may be required to reassign all the operator’s preferred settings. This Tech Tip provides a method to save your Verisurf Preferences and use these settings as the Factory Settings, which allows you to recover your Preferences each time you select Restore Factory Settings.

ESTABLISH VERISURF PREFERENCES

1. Open your Verisurf Preferences and edit all settings to meet your requirements.
   
2. Close the Verisurf Software.
   
3. Using File Explorer opens the following directory:
   
1. Windows 7 – Library\Documents\My Mastercam2021\Mastercam\CONFIG
   
2. Windows 10 – This PC\Documents\My Mastercam2021\Mastercam\CONFIG
   
4. Copy the File: VerisurfSettings_Inch.xml or VerisurfSettings_Metric.xml, depending on which Units were active when editing your Verisurf Preferences.
   
5. Navigate to the following directory and use the Paste command to overwrite the existing File.
   
1. C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\shared Mastercam2021\Verisurf\
   

You can now restart Verisurf and your saved settings are used anytime you choose to Restore Factory Settings. SAVE YOUR FACTORY SETTINGS

When installing or re-installing Verisurf Software, the Factory Settings file is the default file used anytime you select Restore Factory Settings in Preferences. After establishing your Verisurf Preferences, as shown above, VerisurfSettings_Inch.xml or VerisurfSettings_Metric.xml files can be stored in a unique location on your computer so that you can reload them after a new installation or reinstallation of the software. Please note: file location for Verisurf versions can change and may require you to search your hard drive for the current location.

RECOVER YOUR FACTORY SETTINGS

If for any reason, you must recover the original Verisurf Factory Settings:

1. Close Verisurf
   
2. Using File Explorer go to:
   
1. This PC\Documents\My Mastercam2021\Mastercam\CONFIG\CONFIG
   
3. Copy the File VerisurfSettings_Inch.xml or VerisurfSettings_Metric.xml as required.
   
4. Navigate to the following directory and use the Paste command to overwrite the existing File.
   
1. C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\shared Mastercam2021\Verisurf\
   
5. ​Restart Verisurf.
