Trouble Shooting Install Issues and Retrieving Install Log
When installing Verisurf, Mastercam or the VDI you run into issues were the install crashes or does not finish.
There can be many different reasons for an install to crash or not finish. This article will help you trouble shoot the problem.
- Browse out to the following directory. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp
- In the Temp directory scroll down to the files that begin with 'M'.
- You are looking for a file that starts with MSI and ends with .log and has the corresponding date to the failed install.
- Open the file in 'Note Pad'.
- Once the file is opened, select Ctrl-F on the key board to open the search window.
- In the search window search for 'Return Value 3' to find if there are any fatal errors.
- If Return Value 3 is found you can read the description to identify the failure.
- Also search for 'fatalerror'.
This process should help you identify the issues causing the failed install.
