Cannot Activate Software License

Case:

A software license broke for a single seat or a network license, and running the wizard to activate it again fails to complete successfully.

Cause:

One of the hardware or software binding pieces for the license changed, causing the license to break.

Solution:

  1. Make sure to run the Activation Wizard on the system the license was originally activated on.
  2. If the wizard fails to activate, create a CMDust log file from that system. Follow the steps in the How to create a CMDust log on a system running a software license KB article to do so.
  3. Send in the license number and CMDust log file, along with any known changes that were made to the system before the license broke, via email to support@verisurf.com and support@mastercam.com
  4. If the computer they last had the license activated on is no longer operational due to a hardware failure, a lost license form will need to be completed, and a new license will be issued to the user.
